I love Holidays. I really love them all. They all also have very different meanings to me. Christmas is one of my favorites. I have such great memories of waking up on Christmas day and the living room being full of presents for me and my sister from Santa. My mom and dad really knew how to do it.
Christmas in our house now is more subdued. D does not have great memories of the holidays. So I try my best to make things festive for the kids. I am really thankful this year that we both have jobs right now. D didn't work for like a month and a half this summer which have made things pretty tight but I have buckled down and now we are almost back to where we were.
I am also thankful that we are all in good health. Everyone in our extended and immeadiate families are also. Along with our friends.
This year the holidays will not have as many gifts as in the past but I think our love will more than make up for it. Along with some of the traditions we have. E and I started going over to my moms to help bake cookies. Which E loves to do. She also loves to help me make treats at home. We are also going to try and go on a carriage ride through an area that has light all around. She loves horses so that will be a treat for her.
We started putting up the tree last night. She was having a ball tonight we will finish hopefully. She can't wait to hang up the ornaments. Anf hoepfully D will put up our outside stuff tomorrow since it is supposed to be nice.
We also already had our first snow over the weekend. Not very much but as soon as E woke up Sunday morning she wante to go play in it. Her brother finally took her and they had a blast in the dusting of it. I can't wait to see what she will do when we get a couple of inches.
All in all we had a great Thanksgiving. We ate and played cards and went for a drive around a nearby lake. Then Friday I got to go shopping. I was out for over 12 hours but it was a blast. Saturday I took the kids to the movies and then we went out to eat as a family and yesterday we just chilled.
