Absence makes the heart grow fonder
I will be gone for about a week. My grandpa passed away last night so I am going to take a couple days off to be with my dad. My grandpa lived a very full long life, he was 92. He died peacefully at home just like he wanted to. So if you don't see me for awhile then you will know why.

The First Movie
On Saturday D decided to go play in an all day softball tournament. So instead of going shopping like I usually do I decided to save some money and do something fun with my baby.
I decided to break down and take her to the movies. I was a little bit apprehensive about it, I really didn't think she was old enough. But it was really hot so I didn't want to do anything outside.
We went to see Shrek 3. It was really cute but OMG it has been ages since i have been to the movies, probably like five years, it is SOOOOO expensive. We went to the "cheap" show and it was still 12.50 for both of us to get in.
She was good for about the first 45 minutes of it and then she was ready to leave. I however was not about to leave after I just spent that much money so I bribed her with some popcorn. And again I was about to die, for a small popcorn and a bottle of water it was 7.75. That is just crazy. But she lasted through almost the rest of the movie so I guess maybe it was worth it.
Will I be taking her again???? Probably not any time soon. I still think she is a bit too young to stay focused on that for so long. She really doesn't even sit and watch a movie at home like that.
But it was definately and experience and I did get to see a movie before it comes out on DVD for once.

Today is a better day
It's amazing what even a little bit more sleep can do for a person. Even though I didn't get a full night I got a lot more then I had been this week. Plus it's Friday and how can you not love Fridays. We don't have much planned for the weekend. We will work around the house I'm sure and we are also kicking around the idea of having a yard sale tomorrow. But it might rain. Oh well if not. I am thinking of seeing if D wants to go to a local lake on Sunday and hang out and maybe have a picnic and do a little swimming.
We still don't know where he will be working next week or the week after. He should hopefully find out today some time if he will or not but I am not going to stress about that now. E had splash day today at school. She loves to play in the water. I really need to get some pics of her in her swimsuits, she looks so cute. I think she has like 20 of them. But when she wears one everyday we definitely needed more than one.
Some sad news one of my friends at work was pregnant and was going for her first sonogram last night. She has a lot of problems and was told she could never get pregnant. So it was a big shock when she found out. And then she was told she only had a 50% chance of carrying to term. She didn't come into work today and I asked our boss what she said. He said she told him she had a dr appt last night and things didn't go well. I am so sad for her because I know how bad she wants to have a baby. But she didn't tell anyone else here at work so hopefully when she comes back on Monday things won't be too hard on her.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. And maybe I will have some more pictures come Monday. And I will leave you with a cute pic of me and my big girl.

Sleepy, very Sleepy
I am so tired. I am not a good sleeper and with D on the night shift this week it has made things even harder. I don't think I have gotten 8 hours sleep total all week. I just don't sleep good when he is not there. Luckily its only for this week. It really sucks becuase he hasn't been working for the full eight hours either. The other night he came home at 4 something and this morning he got home at 5:30, so of course at 5:45 I hear E yelling mommmy. She was ready to get up. Ugh, I really needed that extra 15 minutes of sleep.
I am just ready for the week to be over with so I can get at least 5 hours of sleep at night again.

And we wait
Well, it seems like our plans to buy a new house may be on hold for now. D found out yesterday that there is not a whole lot of work out there right now. He is working the night shift this week then after this week we don't know what he is going to be doing. Hopefully his company will have somewhere else for him to go otherwise its off to the unemployment office for him.
Luckily we are prepared for this kind of thing. We have money in savings but dang I really hate to use that money. And our house buying plans will go on hold until he gets put on a more permanent job. In the meantime I will just watch what I spend and we are definately having a garage sale to make some money.

Fathers Day
To me in our house it seems like I put a lot more effort into Fathers Day then gets put into my mothers day. I don't think it happens on purpose and it really doesn't bother me that I have to spend mothers day in the car for the most part. And D always gets me something really nice. But this year I really don't feel like I have put any effort into it at all. I did get him a nice present and will fix him a yummy dinner but I am just not feeling it this year for some reason.
I think the best present I could have ever gotten him is for me to go to the gym every night. He has to pick up E and entertain her for a couple hours until I get home. Its so nice that after three years of picking her up and playing with her every night that he gets to do it for a change. I know he really enjoys spending the time with her too because they alwasy have a wacky story to tell me when I get home.
The only drawback is that instead of him feeding her dinner he lets her eat whatever she wants. Luckily I have been buying healthier food and she doesn't get to eat cookies every night for dinner.

Hump Day
Gosh I can't believe its already Wednesday. This week has flown by so fast. Last night I made a mad dash to Kohls before the gym because I had a 30% off coupon that ended yesterday. I wanted to get D's fathers day present there. He has had his eye on a food sealer for awhile. Why? I'm not real sure I guess just because he is a dork. I also did a fly bye of the clothes and picked up like five things for me but when I tried them all on at home last night I only liked one thing. Oh well. At least I liked one thing. I still can't decide what to get my dad though. He is really hard to buy for.
Some good news, my baby brother has been searching for a job for this summer before he starts college and had not been able to find one. But today he got one so he is very happy. He will be working the graveyard shift but he is okay with that because its more money.
Here is a picture of him at graduation with our mom

My allergies have been kicking my ass this week. I have been very dizzy on and off all day. But then when I go home I am fine. I am thinking that something here at work is setting them off. Oh well I better get back to work. I will elave you all with a picture of E and D hangin out

T.G.I.F.
Sometimes I just love Fridays. Especially when I have absolutely nothing planned for the weekend. For like the last two months we have had something to do every weekend it seemed like. This weekend we have nothing. Yipee. We are going to go garage saleing in the morning. Hopefully we will be able to find E a new bed. I am also looking for some comfy chairs for outside and a little tykes picnic table. A little town by us is having their annual city wide sale so it should be lots of fun.
Maybe I can talk D into going to the movies. We haven't been to the movies in like five years. I really want to see either Knocked Up or the Pirates of the Carribean. D is still working on his mothers bathroom so he will probably have to go over there and work and hopefully he can work on our house too.
Today at work we had Chiplote for lunch. It was sooo yummy that I ate my entire burrito bol. I am so stuffed and probably won't eat again today. I might skip the gym tomorrow so I can get an early start on the sales too. I really just want to hang out and play around and be lazy. And try not to think about coming back to work on Monday.

Cheers to everyone, have a great weekend

Money
Most of the time I am very happy about where D and I are financially. We don't go without and neither do the kids. If we want something we usually go out and buy it. If it is a big ticket item we usually save up for it. We both love our jobs so that makes things a little easier too.
But all of this house hunting I have been doing has me wishing that we had more money so we could afford a huge house with a lot of land for the kids to pay on. D wants at least 5 acres. And I think "ok I can find something" and I can but do I really want to give up the lifestyle we have grown accustumed to?? I think that I can. I bring lunch to work everyday. I don't make unneccesary trips in the car to waste gas.
But I love to shop. Its definately my downfall. I also love to buy lots of things for the kids. Lots of things. I know that we can afford to buy a nice house with some land and I will have to give up a few things. But darn it why can't I grow a money tree????

Exercise
So about three weeks ago I joined a gym. Its been going pretty good. I usually go 3-4 times a week. I hate to exercise. I mean really hate to exercise. But I know that I need to lose some weight and get in better shape. Tonight is a cardio kickboxing class. I love to take the classes. The only bad thing is that I get home really late and feel like I haven't done a thing all night. So far I haven't seen any results on the scale and it kind of bums me out but I am going to give it a few more weeks. Oh well off to exercise I go.

Ouch
Please tell me why it hurts worse to wax your upper lip than it does to go bare down there? It was my first time to do the upper lip yesterday and boy did it bring tears to my eyes.

Its been a long time
Wow Its been a very long time. I have been told by a few people that I need to get to writing in my blog again. Sometimes though it seems as if my days are all the same thing week after week and to me that gets very boring.
Yesterday was my birthday. I actually had a great day. All the girls at work decorated my office, one of them made me three different kinds of cookies and another bought me some BBQ for lunch.
I went to the gym and did some yoga then went home and got pizza for dinner. D and E gave me my present and my cards. It was a great day.

Moving on
D and I have been tossing around the idea of moving for awhile. Our house is just getting to be too small for us. Plus if you ever decide to add to our family we wouldn't have room in our current house. Don't get me wrong our house is really not that small, I think we just have a lot of junk.
D wants to move far away from everything else. Me on the other hand doesn't really want to be that far away. I check online at least once a week to see what kind of listings they have. D would like at least 5 acres. Not a whole lot in our price range for sure.
So we have decided that we will try to find some land and then build our own house. Yikes that is really scary. D is very knowlegeable about the whole house building thing and will be able to do 80% of the work himself. I on the other hand know nothing. Which is okay cause I just get in his way anyways but one of us need to know about the financial side of things. I guess that would be my job.
I have found several parcels of land this week that are very reasonably priced. Some have been too far away but I found one that may work. We shall go look tonight. Wish us well, it is very scary.

And we're off
Not to the races but to the holiday season. I love the holidays, all of them really. I love all of the excitement that comes with them and the decorating and the magical feelings that come along with the holidays. D does not share my enthusiasm. Oh well I just remind him that its for the kids not him. Mr Ba Humbug.
With Halloween quickly approaching I am thinking more and more about the holidays. We even tried to grow our own pumpkins this year. We got a few of them but we will still have to go out and buy some to carve. OH well it was fun. I have even had my house decorated for the past three weeks. E is going to be a cowgirl, I have found her almost everything for her costume. D and I will actually be going to a party this year so I need to come up with costumes for us. C says he is too big to dress up and trick or treat. I just rolled my eyes at him. I have dressed up almost every year.
After Halloween comes Thanksgiving, who doesn't love all of that food. I love food and I love to be around family. I don't get to see my family very often so it is really nice to get together. Plus the Chiefs are playing the Broncos on Thanksgiving this year so that will be a very good day. My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is the day after though. For the past probably twelve years one of my Aunt's and I go shopping. It is a tradition now. We get up way before the sun comes up and go stand in line at whatever store has the best deal and we spend all day out shopping. All day. Its really great.
Then comes Christmas. I love Christmas. I love the memories of it I have from growing up and I can't wait to have my kids feel the same way as me. I always go overboard at Christmas time. I really do start out with good intentions to curb the spending but I just can't help it. I love giving presents. I have to find the perfect present for each person. I have already finished up half of my Christmas shopping. Only because I have some birthdays throw in the mix and that gets expensive.
Oh holidays here they come and I am so excited for them.

Yummy
| You Are a Strawberry Margarita |
You're so sweet it's a little overwhelming, and people are a little afraid of corrupting you... It's a little difficult to imagine you with a margarita. And you're truly a different person after you've kicked back a couple! |

Baby Blues
Well another week has gone by. They seem to go so slow but also so fast. Why do you think that is? D going to school three nights a week definitely makes the evenings seem slow. E and I have been going out every Wed night while he is gone. It is a lot of fun we go somewhere different each week, sometimes with other people and sometimes by ourselves.
This week we went out with a girlfriend of mine and her two kids. E had a blast being around the other kiddos. So much in fact that when I picked her up last night she cried because she wanted to go back and play with them some more. This just solidifies the fact that I really think she needs a sibling.
I hate, I mean hate the fact that she will be an only probably. I know she has a half brother but he doesn't live with us and they are so far apart in age. D is coming around to the idea of another. Which would be good news but the bad news is that we can't afford to have another right now. For one our house is not big enough. For two daycare is way too much money, I would be spending over 300 a week, yes you read that right, a WEEK on daycare for the two of them, Uh hello why even bother working. Oh yes I need to work to help pay the bills, but how can I pay bills when I have to spend that much on daycare. Well I guess that means we can't have another baby right now.
And that really sucks!

I Suck
Okay so I really suck at keeping up with this blog. Sigh. Sometimes I just feel like I really don't have much to say.
Last night E and I went out to eat together. It was nice she was really well behaved and we had fun. We went to the new dinosaur resturant she has been dying to go to. We only had to wait 15 minutes to get in so that was a plus.
At first she was in awe of everything then she started to get scared. There are huge animated dinosaurs everywhere and it is very loud. I was just hoping that she didn't have any bad dreams from it.
In other news potty training has started in our house. She started going poop in the potty over the weekend and hasn't looked back. The only thing stopping me from putting her in panties is the fact that she will still pee occasionally and the bad mommy that I am, I don't want to deal with the mess. We put up a chart and she get gummy bears every time she goes. Gosh what she will do for the gummy's.
This coming weekend D has a softball tournament on Saturday I need to decide if E and I will be going or not. I want to in a way but don't want to in another way. I am just kind of blah this week I guess.
